VALES POINT POWER STATION

ROUTINE INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE OF LIFTING EQUIPMENT

SUMMARY OF SPECIFICATION

The following summary indicates the general nature of the Works for which The Principal desires Tenders to be submitted and is issued to enable Contractors to make an assessment whether the Specification documents should be obtained from The Principal for the purpose of submitting a tender response. It does not form part of the Specification and should not be included as part of the Tenderer's offer.

PURPOSE OF WORK

The Contractor is responsible for the Rigging Equipment Inspection works as and when required at Vales Point Power Station for a period of two (2) years.

LOCATION OF SITE

The Vales Point Power Station is located on the southern shore of Lake Macquarie, approximately 130 km north of Sydney, New South Wales, and approximately 3 km off the Pacific Highway North of Doyalson.

EXTENT OF WORK

The works includes but is not limited to the following:
a) Visual inspections of rigging and lifting equipment on site per the Delta lifting equipment register attached to tender documents and any other lifting equipment not captured in the register.

b) Inspections to be completed as per the applicable Australian Standards including, but not limited to:

(i) AS1418 Chain Hoists;

(ii) AS3775.2-2004 Chain Slings;

(iii) AS1666.2-2009 Wire Rope Slings;

(iv) AS1353.2-1997 Flat Synthetic Webbing Slings;

(v) AS4497.2-1997 Round Synthetic Fibre Slings

(vi)        AS1891.1-2007 Fall Arrest Devices;

(vii) AS4344-2001 Transport Restraint Devices; and

(viii) AS2741-2002 Shackles.

c) Affix certification tags to rigging equipment. If an item fails an inspection, the Contractor must remove any certification tags on affected item and hand to the Contract Administrator to remove from service. 

d) Update the Vales Point Lifting Equipment Register within 1 week of any inspection.

INSPECTION OF SITE

There is no pretender site meeting scheduled for this works. For further information contact the Principal Representative named below.

Visitors to the Site must provide and wear their own safety hats, safety footwear, protective safety eyewear (clear glasses), long sleeved shirts (hi-vis) and long trousers or combination overalls (hi-vis).

It is expected that all companies have downloaded and reviewed all the documents pertaining to the works prior to any site inspection if required.

Proof of identity will be required prior to entry.

COMMERCIAL CONDITIONS

The commercial conditions will be in accordance with the Conditions of Quoting and Conditions of Order. These documents can be found under the Delta Electricity Website.

TENDER CLOSING DATE

Quotations will close at 1.00pm on Tuesday, the 6th December 2019 at Vales Point Power Station.
