VALES POINT POWER STATION

DESIGN, SUPPLY, INSTALL AND REMOVAL OF MAIN FURNACE SCAFFOLD

SUMMARY OF SPECIFICATION

The following summary indicates the general nature of the Works for which The Principal desires Tenders to be submitted and is issued to enable Contractors to make an assessment whether the Specification documents should be obtained from The Principal for the purpose of submitting a tender response. It does not form part of the Specification and should not be included as part of the Tenderer's offer.

PURPOSE OF WORK

The Contractor is responsible for the design, supply, install, and removal of a main furnace scaffold for the Vales Point Power Station for the Unit 6 Major Outage in 2020.

LOCATION OF SITE

The Vales Point Power Station is located on the southern shore of Lake Macquarie, approximately 130 km north of Sydney, New South Wales, and approximately 3 km off the Pacific Highway North of Doyalson.

EXTENT OF WORK

The Works performed by The Contractor must include, but not be limited to, the following:

a) Transport and handling of all Scaffolding and materials delivered to site;
b) Scaffold to be of lightweight rapid build type;
c) Site mobilisation and handling of Scaffolding and materials;
d) Induction and training of all Contractor personnel working on the Vales Point Site;
e) Installation, certification, and hand over of Scaffolding;
f) Scaffolding inspections every 30 days and as required by the relevant standards;
g) Off hire and dismantle and removal of Scaffolding and materials;
h) Site demobilization and site clean-up of Scaffolding and materials;
i) Transportation and handling of all Scaffolding and materials from site. This includes the lifting of scaffolding and related equipment from ground level to/from Tank Floor;
j) As built scaffolding drawings including engineering certification of the design;
k) Statement that the scaffolding system complies with relevant standards; and

l) Scaffolding systems must be designed and installed in accordance with, but not limited to, the following:

i. AS/NZS1576: Part 1: Scaffolding – General Requirements;
ii. AS/NZS1576: Part 2: Scaffolding – Couplers and Accessories;
iii. AS/NZS1576: Part 3: Scaffolding – Prefabricated and Tube-and-coupler Scaffolding;
iv. AS1577: Scaffold Planks;
v. AS/NZS4576: Guidelines for Scaffolding;
vi. AS/NZS1892.1: Portable Ladders – Metal; and
vii. AS/NZS1892.3: Portable Ladders – Reinforced Plastic.

INSPECTION OF SITE

There is no pretender meeting scheduled. However, should the tenderer wish to visit site to assess the area, appointments can be made by contacting the Principal Contract Representative.

Prior to attending Site, the Tenderer must contact via email, The Principal representative named below 24 hours prior. Proof of identity must be provided prior to entry.

Visitors to the Site must provide and wear their own safety hats, safety footwear, protective safety eyewear (clear glasses), long sleeved shirts (hi-vis) and long trousers or combination overalls (hi-vis).

It is expected that all companies have downloaded and reviewed all documents pertaining to the works prior to the site inspection.

COMMERCIAL CONDITIONS

The commercial conditions will be in accordance with the Conditions of Quoting and Conditions of Order. These documents can be found under the Delta Electricity Website.
