Each year Delta Electricity sponsors six scholarships valued at $1,000 each to assist Central Coast students complete their education.
Five scholarships are for students enrolled to attend courses at the Central Coast Campus of The University of Newcastle (at Ourimbah) and one scholarship assists a TAFE student in the region studying Community Services or Childrens' Services.
The scholarships offer financial support to young, financially disadvantaged undergraduate students who have successfully completed their first year of study.
They are part of the University of Newcastle Foundation, an umbrella structure which works to attract high calibre students and academic staff through external funding.
To be eligible, students must be:
- a continuing student, who has successfully completed at least 40 credit points;
- enrolled full-time;
- under 21 years of age at the completion of their first calendar year of study;
- financially disadvantaged;
- a resident on the Central Coast;
- enrolled in one of the following academic programs at The University of Newcastle, Ourimbah Campus, Central Coast: Bachelor of Science; specialisation Sustainable Resource Management; Bachelor of Management; Bachelor of Applied Information Technology.
- not a previous recipient of this scholarship,
- an Australian citizen or permanent resident; and
- not the recipient of another scholarship for the same course, of equivalent or more substantial benefit.
