A-Station Project

Delta Electricity is removing the A-Station structures from the Vales Point Power Station site.  The demolition project will start in late August 2011 and will take approximately 15 - 18 months to complete.

In the late 1960's, the A-Station was the most powerful electricity generator in NSW. Due to changes in technology, the station was decommissioned in 1989 and over time, the A-Station building structures including internal steel structures, stairways and cladding have deteriorated.

The project will remove the turbine house, four boilers, cladding, concrete and steel from the site which will be reused or recycled where possible.

The existing Vales Point B-Station will remain operational on the site.
