Delta Electricity is seeking development approval to build a gas turbine plant on a site near the Marulan high voltage switchyard near Brayton.
On an adjacent site, EnergyAustralia proposes to build a second gas turbine facility. Both Delta and EnergyAustralia are now seeking approval to construct the two separate gas turbine facilities on their adjacent sites.
The consultancy firm URS Australia (URS) has now completed the Environmental Assessment for these projects, as required under the provisions of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
The Environmental Assessment has addressed the environmental aspects of the two facilities individually, as well as their cumulative impacts.
Measures to mitigate any impact of gas turbine operations on the local social and ecological environment have been identified as part of the specialist studies conducted for the environmental assessment.
