The Delta e-schools program has been designed to encourage kids to think creatively about their future and the environment through designing and working on school or community projects.
Delta Electricity initiated this program for rural and regional school communities in the Central West Region. It is endorsed by the NSW Department of Education and Training.
Many of Australia’s innovative engineering solutions have come from rural communities where resourcefulness, problem solving and creativity are a way of life.
Rewarding primary students, through the Delta e-schools awards, to think locally about global environmental issues, take action and see the results will stimulate their interest in contributing to a sustainable future.
In 2006, the following primary schools won an award and a cash prize for their project: All Saint's College Junior, Burraga PS, Cullen Bullen PS, Kelso PS , Perthville PS, The Lagoon PS, Wallerawang PS, St Patricks, St Philomena's, All Saints College and Zig Zag PS.
UPDATE: We are currently revising material and our plan at this time is to introduce eschools in time for the beginning of the school year in 2008. Watch this space!
