Organising a visit and tour

Tours of the Mt Piper power station itself are held daily at 11am. Note that on occasion, casual visitors will need to fit in with school or other pre-booked groups.

Group bookings can be made by calling, Julie Merrick, Community Relations Officer on 02-6354 8155 or fax 02-6354 8113. Confirmation of the group booking will be sent to you in writing. Groups should allow two hours for a comprehensive tour.

Suitable clothing

All visitors going on the tour must have enclosed solid shoes (no open shoes such as thongs or sandals), and wear long sleeved shirts and covered legs eg. trousers or slacks not skirts or shorts.

The weather can be very cold, so dress warmly in winter. Visitors will also be required to wear helmets, high visibility safety vests, safety glasses and ear protection as supplied.
