Munmorah Power Station

Munmorah Power Station has been a vital part of the NSW power generation system since it was officially opened on 24th October 1969.   It is about 110 km north of Sydney and is located on the coastal strip between the Tuggerah Lakes, close to the Central Coast beaches. It is a very popular tourist area with important scenic and environmental attractions.

In early 2009, Munmorah Unit 3 achieved a new record of 145 days continual in service operation equalling a previous record for 145 days continuous operation achieved in September 1982.

The rehabilitation of Munmorah has been identified as one of the seven generation development projects to be sold to the private sector through the NSW Government's Energy Reform process.
